Private view: Friday 16th December 18:30 - 22:30
I’m holding down a series of notes to see what patterns I can play.
The paintings and the sound accompany each other, but are not equivalent. Neither is representative of the other's formal or compositional elements. Instead, the sound points to the conditions in which the paintings were made. The process of making is instrumental (but not performative) serving to capture and draw attention to the simplest of gestures and intimations, making marks that float on the surface to create a record of my movements in space.
This exhibition marks the first exploration in bringing together two previously discrete parts of my practice, sound and visual art, to make work that continues beyond its formal parameters.
